uffizi room 64 del bronzino
Agnolo di Cosimo, known as Bronzino, was undoubtedly one of the most cultivated exponents of Florentine Mannerism, whose activity was chiefly focussed on painting portraits of the Medicean Court.
His painting was an expression of the complexity of the Mannerist style with the addition of a strong statuesque idealisation.
In this rooms, there are many paintings with sacred and profane themes, as well as some portraits.
Worthy of mention is the Panciatichi Holy Family, which presents a dynamic structure, but abstract at the same time, which is precisely his style. The attention to detail, the face of the Madonna and the fineness of the hair recapture the Portrait of Lucrezia Panciatichi, also hung in this room.
