Department of drawings and prints
This department hosts an extraordinary collection of approximately 150,000 drawings and prints, ranging from the late 14th to the 20th century, in the spaces recovered from the ancient Medicean theatre on the first floor of the Gallery.
Standing out among these are works by Michelangelo and Leonardo (da Vinci) by whom preliminary sketches or copies of works that have unfortunately since been lost, such as the Battle of Anghiari and the Battle of Cascina.
The exhibition room is open to the public and accessible using the same entrance ticket to the Uffizi Gallery, whereas admission must be paid to access the study room.
